Kia ora!

Kia ora!

My name is Kim, and I’m the Centre Manager here at Clendon Early Learning Centre. It’s such a privilege to meet new whānau and begin this journey together. I truly look forward to getting to know you and your tamaiti, and working alongside you to support and enrich your tamariki growth, learning, and happiness.

Our centre is a place where relationships matter, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our community.

About this centre

Clendon Early Learning Centre is a diverse, spacious, and stimulating environment where your child will be inspired to learn through their natural curiosity.

Our spacious outdoor environment has a huge sandpit that the tamariki love to use for their creations and experiments, and we even have our very own whare made from punga logs.

Parents and whānau are always welcome at our centre. Our open-door policy means you can come in for a cup of tea or get involved with your child's learning at any time.

Each child’s individual nature and uniqueness are embraced and celebrated by our nurturing and caring teaching team.

Convenience

Our aim is to create the best conditions for your child's learning, wellbeing and care. We also know how important it is to give you the convenience you need and reassurance that your child is in safe hands. Our loving team and tailored environment are all waiting to be discovered by your family/whānau.

Nutritious meals, affordable fees and Storypark - our online parent communication tool, are just some of the ways we try to make things a little easier for parents. Local excursions and fun activities are just the beginning when it comes to being the best we can be for your child.

Engaging environment

Our happy and nurturing environment will inspire, stimulate and empower your child to learn in their own unique way. The large outdoor spaces challenge and excite the imagination, while our spacious and light filled indoor areas offer room for reading, rest, and engaging indoor learning experiences. Our children love painting, waiata and the many play areas they have to discover.

Connecting with the community

We only know who we are, by knowing where we come from. That's why building a strong connection with nature and our local community is so important. We believe it helps your child develop a sense of belonging and identity and positively influences their learning experiences.

Nutrition and wellbeing

We strive to provide nutritious and delicious meals and snacks to support physical and mental development. We encourage healthy eating habits and offer a balanced menu to keep your child well-fuelled throughout the day. The children also love being involved, and we use the vegetables and herbs we grow in our meals.

Your child will enjoy:

  • Breakfast
  • Morning snack
  • Lunch
  • Afternoon snack

Our centre is nut free, and we're happy to cater to any allergy or dietary requirements as needed.

Staff who nurture and inspire

Our qualified and experienced teachers are committed to caring for and nurturing your child. They build a strong connection with each child throughout their early learning journey and go out of their way to ensure every child feels supported and their unique needs are met.

Our teachers create positive opportunities for your child to develop physically, mentally and emotionally. They help guide your child as they navigate new friendships, master new skills and build independence and resilience to get ready for school and lay the foundations for lifelong learning.

Te Korowai Mokopuna

“Wrap the cloak around the child”

Te Korowai Mokopuna provides on-site wraparound support for whānau, meeting immediate needs and offering early help in a trusted, familiar environment - without stigma or delay.

We work to reduce barriers to education, increase participation, model positive parenting, provide group programmes, and deliver social services. Te Korowai Mokopuna empowers whānau to raise tamariki who stand on strong foundations, with māiatanga (realising potential).

It lets whānau know that it is okay to ask for help and that support is available whenever it is needed.

Mainly Music

We are delighted to welcome the Mainly Music facilitators to our Clendon Early Learning Centre in 2025! Weekly sessions will include songs, rhymes, actions, and movement, all designed to engage our tamariki in a rich learning environment. Parents and whānau are encouraged to join us and participate in the fun together.

Farmyard animals 2 v2

Old Macdonald's Mobile Farmyard Visit

We were lucky enough to be visited by Old Macdonald’s mobile farmyard! All of the children patiently took it in turns to learn about chickens, piglets, goats, sheep and more. Some tamariki were even brave enough to ride the ponies! This visit has been the talk of the centre ever since, such a special experience! A huge thank you to our whānau that were able to attend and support this event.

Clendon Waitangi Day

Te Rā o Waitangi

We marked Te Rā o Waitangi 2026 (Waitangi Day) by coming together in waiata (songs) and toi (art). Tamariki (children) explored ngā tae (colours) through shared painting experiences, learning side by side. These moments nurtured whanaungatanga (connection and relationships) and helped children feel a strong sense of belonging while connecting with the stories and culture of Aotearoa.

Stay in touch with Storypark

We use Storypark to record and communicate learning as it happens via photos, video, audio and observations within a secure online environment. Parents and whānau can receive instant feedback and plan new ways to extend their child’s unique interests and abilities.
